Terms of Service

1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of teamdiff.gg (the "Service"), operated by Hyunwook Yim, an individual based in the Republic of Korea ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is
teamdiff.gg publishes League of Legends statistics of two kinds.
About champions: tier lists, win rates, pick and ban rates, item builds, rune pages, skill orders and lane matchups, derived from samples of ranked match data.
About players: on request, a per-player report — when you search a Riot ID, we fetch that account's recent ranked matches from Riot's API and generate a statistical review of them. And, published once a day for every region without anyone asking for it, a leaderboard of the Challenger tier of Riot's own Solo/Duo ranked ladder, showing each listed account's Riot ID, its standing, its most-played champions and its recent public ranked results. The Privacy Policy describes that in sections 4b and 9, including how to be taken off the page.
The Service is free and requires no account. Player reports are generated only when a visitor searches for them, and regenerating any one report is limited to once a minute; finished reports are briefly cached so repeat views cost nothing.
Account linking (Riot Sign On) is not currently part of the Service. If it is added, these Terms will be updated before launch.
3. Relationship to Riot Games
teamdiff.gg is an independent third-party product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Riot Games.
teamdiff.gg isn't endorsed by Riot Games and doesn't reflect the views or opinions of Riot Games or anyone officially involved in producing or managing Riot Games properties. Riot Games, and all associated properties are trademarks or registered trademarks of Riot Games, Inc.
We access League of Legends data through Riot's public API under Riot's developer terms. League of Legends, all champion names, item names, artwork and related assets are the property of Riot Games, Inc.
Your use of League of Legends is governed by Riot's own terms, not ours. Nothing here changes your relationship with Riot.
4. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Service, or use automated tools to access it beyond normal browsing
- Resell, redistribute or republish our data as your own product
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
- Interfere with the Service's operation, or place unreasonable load on it
- Use the Service in any way that breaches Riot's terms or would cause us to breach Riot's developer policies
We may block access for breach of this section.
5. What our statistics are, and what they are not
They are estimates. Tier lists, win rates and recommendations are derived from a sample of matches, not from every game played. They carry sampling error, they lag behind balance changes, and they describe what has already happened rather than what will happen. Entries drawn from small samples are the least reliable, and we mark them where we can.
They describe champions, and they report what Riot publishes about players. teamdiff does not compute a skill rating, estimate matchmaking rating, or predict any player's rank. Where the Service shows a player's standing — a profile, or the Challenger leaderboard — it is reporting what Riot itself publishes, not an assessment of its own. Only Riot determines your rank.
They are advice about a video game. Following a recommended build carries no guarantee of winning, improving, or reaching any rank. Use your judgement.
We may be wrong or unavailable. The Service depends on Riot's API. When it is slow, rate-limited or unavailable, our data will be stale or missing. We publish the sample size and the time of the most recent update so you can judge for yourself.
6. Our content and Riot's
The design, code, written text and aggregated datasets of the Service belong to us, excluding Riot's intellectual property, which belongs to Riot Games.
You may use the Service for your own purposes, and may share screenshots or individual figures with attribution to teamdiff.gg.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation or payment to you.
7. Cost
The Service is free. We take no payments and hold no billing information. If paid features are introduced in future, these Terms will be updated and the terms of any purchase set out clearly before you buy anything.
8. Changing and ending the Service
We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and may discontinue the Service entirely. As the Service is free and holds nothing belonging to you, no refund or return of data is required, but we will give reasonable notice on the site where we can.
You may stop using the Service at any time by closing the page.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its data will be accurate or complete.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities arising from your use of the Service.
Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability arising out of or relating to it is limited to KRW 100,000.
If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence may give you rights this section cannot limit. Nothing here is intended to reduce those rights.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts of the Republic of Korea.
If you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the mandatory law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.
12. General
- Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stands.
- No waiver. Not enforcing a term once does not waive it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Service.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The revised version will be posted here with a new date above. For material changes we will give notice on the Service before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service afterwards means you accept the change.
Image and data provenance
Champion, item, spell and rune images are supplied by Riot Games through Data Dragon. Position icons, rank crests and supplementary game assets are supplied through CommunityDragon. Statistics and analysis are produced by teamdiff.gg from the collected match data described on the Service.
